The surgery was a success and the doctors anticipated that in 6 weeks she’d have a dose of radiotherapy, and we’d be done with it.</p> <p>Not so.</p> <p>Today the test results on the lymph nodes showed that of the three, two are cancerous. This means the cancer has spread from the breast. This means chemotherapy. I need to read some more. But mostly I just need to hug my mum. It was a lot of fun but I think I must be getting grumpy in my old age. When we were watching the parade, loads of adults were standing in front of the barriers while small children strained to see. I don’t want to go getting all “back in my day,” but seriously, as kids, we were always herded to the front to we could see the festivities! And don’t get me started about the carnival with it’s $4.50 prepackaged, hardened fairy floss. Or the over priced rides.
